A Talk at the Ancram Town Hall
Have you been composting through the winter and finding it a bit of a challenge? If you are looking to up your composting game or want to begin, Master Gardener Kathryn Schneider will answer your questions. Amending our soils with compost provides nutrients, helps retain moisture, balances the pH, and suppresses disease naturally. Kathryn will cover the biochemistry of composting, what we should put in the mix, types of bins, and how we can avoid problems. We will learn how to generate compost from kitchen scraps and yard waste and manage the process to yield piles of valuable material for our gardens in the coming seasons. Come with your questions and share your experiences.
